Students in Mr. Powell’s Biology class constructed marshmallow “Reebops” as part of their unit on genetics. This activity enables students to track 7 different traits from a parent generation to the offspring generation and then allows for comparison of the offspring to each other and the amount of genetic variability that can result. They carried out meiosis, fertilization, development, and birth all in one class period.
