Per board approval at last night's board meeting, the last day of student attendance for the 2024-2025 school year will be Wednesday, May 28th with a 1 hour early dismissal and Teacher Institute Days will be May 29th and May 30th.
Highlight your Class of 2025 Graduating Senior in the Yearbook by purchasing a Senior Tribute for $60. Choose a photo and a message and return to arusk@rccu1.net by Friday, March 28th. Space is limited so don't delay.
The Olney Tiger and Lady Tiger Track teams are hosting the 8th Annual Little Tiger Track & Field Meet on Saturday, April 19th from 8:45 to 11 a.m. All kindergarten through fifth-grade students are invited to join us for a morning of track and field events including: Sprints, Distance, Hurdles, Long Jump & Shot Put (Softball Throw).
The event will include instruction by Olney Tiger athletes and coaches with grade-level competitions.
Registration forms will be distributed to RCES, St. Joseph School, and Full Armor on Monday, March 31st. Forms and payment are due on Tuesday, April 8th, and may be turned into your child's classroom teacher or dropped off at the high school office. The cost is $25 and the fee includes a t-shirt.

RCHS would like to thank Seth Whitehead with the Illinois Petroleum Resources Board and Lonnie Schultz with Franklin Well Service for presenting today. They discussed job & scholarship opportunities in the oil and gas industries, specifically in the Illinois Basin.

REMINDER: Friday, March 14th is taco night/bake sale at the VFW. The bake sale proceeds go to the After-Prom and we could still use desserts. They can be dropped off at the VFW at 4:15. Hope to see you there!
Congratulations to Karlee Bissey and Audry Runyon for being honored at the Wabash Valley Illinois Principals Association Student Recognition banquet. RCHS Principal Darrell Houchin and Assistant Principal Rylan Rusk are very proud of the hard work they have put into their high school career.

This week, RCHS was happy to host motivational mental health speaker, Nathan Harmon, sponsored by WGH and Southeast Illinois AHEC.
As the founder of Your Life Speaks and a top school speaker since 2017, Nathan draws from his own journey of overcoming adversity.
He inspires others to transform their lives with tools for resilience, perseverance, and confidence. Nathan lives by, "I’d rather see you confront, fight, and fail than settle for comfort.”
The RCHS College & Careers class appreciates this week’s businesses, Racklin Reality and AM Transport, for hosting tours and sharing how communication and computational thinking factor into their careers.
Mr. Powell’s Anatomy classes got to visit with 2005 ERHS graduate Dr Tanner Miller. He spoke about his journey from high school student to his current roles with Carle RMH.
Ag students shared their animals with RCELC and RCES students during the FFA Petting Zoo.
For those of you who might be unfamiliar with Fall Kids Mall, it's an organization that helps Richland County students start the school year on the right foot. We provide NEW clothing (shirts, socks, undies), a NEW backpack, a voucher to help pay for a new pair of tennis shoes, as well as toiletries and school supplies. Fall Kids Mall serves approximately 400 children between preschool and 8th grade with the average cost per child being $75.00. As the years have gone by, the number of children has grown towards one that is getting harder and harder to serve, so every little bit helps!
